Start Again!

Happy Saturday! It’s April and it’s the beginning of the second quarter of the year! As I have reflected on the first quarter of the year I can personally say that it was different than any other first quarter that I’ve experienced. I don’t say that in a negative way but I can say that it was a period of stretching.

Towards the end of the first quarter I had a moment where I wanted to truly just take a break from everything and quite frankly give up lol. I was encouraged though to simply pick up where I left off and start again. I decided to make a few changes to my mornings and how I started my day. I chose to be more intentional with going to God about my needs and I filled myself with what I love the most and that was worship. Worship has always been something that takes me to such a special place with God. Doing that and stepping away from the noise really did something good for my soul.

As someone who tends to be a little hard on myself, I’ve been practicing being gentle with myself and patient with the journey I’m on. I did that by simply assessing where I’ve fallen off and I picked up where I left off and started again. We all have goals, we have desires and aspirations with some of them being God inspired.

It’s important to refresh yourself often. Refreshing yourself mainly with God’s word. It’s also important to be familiar with yourself. For me I’ve noticed I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress lately. Obviously stress is not good for us. So I had to ask myself how can I adjust in this area of my life, because it was becoming taxing on my mind and my body. It began preventing me from being my best self and hindering me from focusing on what’s important for this particular season of my life. The answer was refresh myself and find balance before proceeding or starting again.

Today I want to challenge you to start again. If you’ve put something down or given up on a dream or goal due to lacking of time, inspiration, energy, etc. refresh yourself in the word of God and start again.

My prayer today is that you simply start again.

With love,

-Yours Truly Eb
