I consider myself a very self aware person. As I learn more about myself and just as I get older in general I recognize that balance is so important. When adulting we can find ourselves giving our all to our responsibilities that we don’t balance well our life outside of responsibility. I’ve realized that lack of balance will cause you to lose enjoyment for the things that we love to do that are apart of our daily responsibilities. For example you can have a job or career that you love but if you fail in having balance in your life what once was a job/career you enjoy is now dreadful for you.
We live in such a high fast pace society that we feel like we have to just go go go without a break or down time to process or adjust changes. It has projected the idea that if you’re resting or having down time then you’re going to miss out or you’re not doing enough. We have to get to a place where we realize that going at your own pace is important. Your journey is yours alone. When we get to this place we will be more comfortable and less prone to comparison. We will be able to proudly take a step back and re-evaluate our work life balance or the ratio to responsibilities and life.
Are you giving more to your responsibilities and not enough to your life and the things that make you happy? Are you guilting yourself for taking a break? Do you find it hard to do nice things for yourself? If this is you today I want to challenge you to evaluate your life. Evaluate if you have enough balance in your life or if you need more. If you find that you need more balance in your life begin to plan for that and implement that into your life starting today!
My prayer today is that we don’t burn ourselves out when handling responsibilities. I pray that we will find balance in our lives and find time to do the things that we love. I pray that we don’t compromise our lives for the everyday hustle and bustle and that we find joy and exude the Joy of the Lord that lives on the inside of us.
With love,
-Yours Truly, Eb
