Happy Saturday friends! I've been finding that it's so natural to show up in so many ways in the lives of the people around us that we can overtime neglect showing up for ourselves. At least for me that has been the case many times. In a world where life can be so overwhelming it's important to gage your cup often and it's important to ask yourself "am I in the place where I can truly show up?" It's okay to be honest with yourself if you can't. Don't guilt yourself for it.
Showing up for yourself can look different in many ways. I think the biggest way that you can show up for yourself is when you can actively show up in your relationship with God. I've noticed for myself that when I'm slacking with God then everything else in my life tends to start slacking as well. Being distracted by the lack of balance that we have in our life can be the source of it too. Showing up for yourself verbally in what you speak over your life, physically in how you present yourself to you and to others, mentally by making your mental health a top priority and spiritually by making God an even bigger priority. All of these things go hand in hand.
Showing up for myself lately has consisted of me re-prioritizing my relationship with God but also making the necessary adjustments in my life. For example getting out with the old and in with the new. I've been throwing and giving a lot of stuff away lately and simply doing the things that make me feel good about myself. You owe it to yourself to show up for yourself at full capacity.
My prayer today is that we prioritize showing up in our relationship with God that we find peace and ease in showing up for ourselves without any guilt in doing so. I pray that we feel better about ourselves and that we find the balance in it all to be able to show up and show up well.
-Yours Truly, Eb
