The Resurrected King

Happy Saturday friends! As we commemorate Holy week and focus our eyes and minds on the day that Jesus became the resurrected King I want us to think back on all the Jesus did in obedience to His Father God.

I was recently asked what are the characteristics of a daughter and it was something that I had to think about. As I thought about it, this is what came to mind for me. The characteristics of a daughter for me consist of or be similar to an earthly relationship between a daughter and a father. Confident, knowing that a dad would protect their daughter, teach their daughter, be an example of love and chilvary to their daughter, provide for their daughter, and be a place of safety and security with their father.

When I think of these things I think about what God was to Jesus during those moments of betrayal, abuse, mockery, and death. God was everything I listed a father is, He was that to Jesus. Jesus was confident in knowing that God would protect Him through turmoil, that God would show love and provide for Him. Jesus knew that God had a place of safety and security for Him in Heaven. Jesus even knew that He through His Father God had the power to end the tumultuous and diabolical treatment YET Jesus still decided to go to the cross. He knew that in His obedience to God to fulfill His assignment was prevalent for our freedom. Jesus went to the cross with you and me in mind.

One thing I'm grateful to know is that I live, breathe, and have being because of the resurrected King! We can celebrate that Jesus is alive and we have a God in Heaven who sees us as such that He sent His only Son to go through so much agony so that we can live a life of freedom. He wanted us to live a life where sin can't compel us to a life of bondage. His blood paid the price. Jesus defeated the enemy on our behalf. His blood gave us favor with the Father.

Today I want to challenge you to remember not only the moments the Jesus was on the cross but also celebrate knowing that He is the true and living resurrected King!

My prayer today is that we never forget the power of the blood of Jesus that was shed for us. I pray that our eyes will be open to the love of our Father and the love that the has for us as His children. I pray that in this moment of reflection that salvation will be yours if it already isn't.

If you have never made Jesus your Lord I want to invite you to say this prayer today...

Dear Father God,

I come to you today with a humble heart repenting of all of my sins known and unknown. Lord I'm sorry and I ask that you will forgive me and cleanse me of all unrighteousness, make me new. God I believe that You sent your Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for me. I believe in  my heart that He is risen from the dead and alive. Father God today, I am making the decision with an open heart to confess and accept Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior over my life. Thank you Lord for your grace, your mercy, and salvation. I thank you Lord for hearing my heart, answering my prayers and for saving me.

In Jesus' name, Amen

With love,

-Yours Truly Eb
