As I was in prayer earlier this week God reminded me that He is the ultimate sustainer in our lives. Often times we will try to control the situations and issues in our life with minimal help from God. We'll ask God for help but won't give Him the full authority to do so. So many of us have been in this place before. God reminded me that He is here to assist us and help us in every area of our lives.
As I was thinking on all of the things that are going on around me and within me God dropped a song on my heart called “You Sustain” by Pastor Micheal Todd. I love this song because it is so timely and true. Parts of the song that God dropped on my heart states these words “Through the rain still you reign you sustain.“ and another part states “Your promises always come true, not dependent on me but relying on you. Your mercies are new everyday so I will trust you.” How powerful are those words? God was reminding me in that very moment that even in the rain He still reigns and has victory. He reminded me that His promises will always come true and that we don’t have to go through this life being only dependent on ourselves to get through storms in our own strength but that when we rely solely on God He will come through. Sometimes we have to truly step out of our own way and even God’s way and let God take care of us. Psalms 55:22 says to “Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.”
Today I want to challenge you as I challenge myself to let God sustain you. Give all of your issues, situations and battles to God. Don’t be so dependent on your own strength instead rely on God to sustain you and give you the strength that you need to pull through. This is still a victorious year even with the attacks that are being formed against us. Remember the attacks may form but they won’t prosper.
My prayer today is that we will fully be sustained in God and that we will have the strength to endure to the end and triumph over every battle.
