A Father’s Love

Happy Saturday friends & Happy Valentine’s Day! I wanted to share something that on my heart real quick. As I’ve been navigating my 30s….I know those of you who know me are probably wondering what exactly could I be navigating when I just arrived here? Well I’ll be quite honest 30 has been interesting thus far and not in a “bad” way per se but in a very molding, shaping, pruning type of way. Very revealing and uncomfortable, yet for the best.
I experienced a moment recently where I really had to fight through the arrows of temptation and the intensity of my desires. To be honest I’m still fighting but overcoming. In all of that I felt alone in some moments, yet God put it on my heart to confide in the multitude of my wise counsel. Sidenote having a safe community is 10/10 and greatly needed in this walk. Anywho, God met me in the multitude of counsel and even while I was by myself. He reminded me in the most gentlest way that He has greater plans for me. As only a father could, He showed me that He wouldn’t allow me to go back to where I came from. In all transparency it can be easy to simply go back to what you know or knew when your flesh is screaming to be problematic, simply because what you knew/know is familiar. Yet God in His grace protected me from myself.
I keep saying “as only a father could” because God is the ultimate girl dad. He proves that time and time again. God does not play when it comes to His daughters and He reminded me of that. He showed up as my protector, my guidance, my comforter, and most of all my Father. I truly couldn’t imagine walking this life without God. It reminds me of the scripture, which is one of my favorites 1Corinthians 13:4-7. God’s love is patient, kind, and doesn’t envy. His love isn’t proud and self-seeking. God’s love doesn’t keep any records of wrong. God’s love isn’t jealous or rude. God’s love isn’t easily angered. God’s love is integral, He never gives up on us, His love never gives up hope and most importantly His love never fails.
My prayer today is that if you’re someone who finds yourself feeling the woes of navigating life with the desire of being loved, cherished, valued, and everything and more. I pray that you will tangibly feel and experience God’s love above all else first. I pray that God’s peace and comfort will be with you and that you don’t forget just how special you are to God and His heart. My prayer is that you stay steadfast and unmovable and that your strength be renewed in waiting on Him.
With love,
-Yours Truly, Eb
