Happy Saturday friends! This week I wanted to share about my experience with success and what I’ve learned so far. This week I celebrated a huge milestone of mine. I celebrated the launch of my new book! I have been talking about writing a book for like 10 years now and to experience it finally come into fruition has been nothing short of amazing. As someone who has many different gifts and talents, I found myself getting a tad bit overwhelmed in the process for many different reasons. One reason being that I’m learning how to share what God has placed on the inside of me and not be so coy about it. Another reason is the overwhelming outpour of support, I don’t think people talk enough about how having a lot of support can be overwhelming. I know that may sound strange but it’s overwhelming in a good way. If you’re like me I like to show my appreciation to those who support me and because I’m a very personable person that could be overwhelming for me in a not so good way because I often want to go above and beyond lol. Something else I learned is my over-awareness of making sure God is apart of everything I do.
As someone who has experienced God in so many monumental ways I told myself that whatever results from that things that God has given me I will always give Him honor and credit. I told God that people will always know Him through everything that He graces me to do. Now in saying that I felt so down because at my launch while I was saying my thank you speech I forgot to thank God first and it really tore me up afterwards when I was thinking about the event. I was reminded to be careful in not marketing God a legalist and know that God knows my heart. See ever since I was A little girl my dream was to to have a profession that would be in the spotlight. If anyone knows my dream profession growing up was to be a singer/songwriter. In saying that it wasn’t that I wanted to be famous or be in the spotlight, I simply just wanted to share my gifts with the world. I never wanted fame and still don’t, however I know that a part of what God has created me to know will come with a few of the things that I can do without.
As I continue this journey of walking in my purpose, I realize how it’s important to ask for help, keep a good solid team around you who believe and value the same things you do. Make sure that you have things in place to keep you grounded but most importantly stay before God in every possible way. Having a consistent prayer life is one of the ways that you remember God and keep Him at the forefront of any success that you experience. Also knowing God and who He is in nature and in character will elevate the pressure that we put on ourselves to present a certain way. God only ask for us to show up as ourselves and as who He says we are. God will handle the rest. He will cover and fill the spaces that we are lacking.
As I continue to walk along side God in this journey of purpose, I pray that whenever and whoever sees my book, my brand, my blog, and anything else that I put out I pray that they see Jesus in all that I do.
My prayer today is that when you go to create, when you go to launch make sure that God is in it all. Go at His pace and listen to His voice and you’ll have everything you need and more.
With love,
-Yours Truly, Eb
